Arrogant people

We've never really worried too much about thieves in our neighborhood. My husband has been on this property for seventeen years. But recently there was a knock at the door, a young man in his twenties says "Do you want to get rid of any of the steel in your backyard?" My husband started screaming at him what are you doing in my backyard? All this time my husband is thinking of how arrogant this kid is. You don't go walking around a person's backyard. Trying to see what you could steal. The kid played dumb or ignorant like this shouldn't bother my husband. At any rate we noted the color of his truck and style of it in case something happens in the future.

At least he had the decency to ask. He could have just taken what he wanted without asking. If you guys didn't notice him back there to begin with, who knows how much he could have taken.
When we first moved into our home, a young guy in his twenties knocks on the door and says "my girlfriend's grandparents used to live here and she wants to know if she can have the porch swing that is hanging on your back porch". I let him have it because it held sentimental value to the granddaughter but I also felt like it had left me open to be bothered by this young man. Sure enough, he started coming back asking for more stuff so I eventually had to tell him to stop coming around. At first I thought he was pretty arrogant, then I realized that he was probably raised to be a democrat and used to having everything handed to him in life. Elections are coming up...VOTE THEM OUT.
