EOtech sights

Our next door neighbor thinks he's the great white hunter or he is waiting for WWWIII to break out. I just haven't figured it out yet. I remember two years ago him dragging my husband on a two mile walk into the woods to show him where he had his deer stand set up. My husband came back telling the story of how many different guns and ammo  including eotech sights that our next door neighbor has stock pile well anyhow we know who's house we're going to if something bad happens God forbid.

Hot wheels car set

Another thing that Santa brought our son was a nice hot wheels car set. I thought it was a joke when we opened it up and there must have been seventy pieces to assemble. I must be getting older because I couldn't focus on the small print of a directions. Luckily my husband saved the day and came over just by looking at the picture on the box he had it assembled in no time. We had bought a lot of batteries but somehow forgot the bigger ones for the hot wheel track. So glad for one local store being open to purchase batteries for it.

Fig tree

It was so beautiful taking a walk on my husband's grandparents property even though they have long passed away the new owner was nice enough to let my husband reminisce of the time that he's spent there. Walking down through the woods on the old maple sugar trail was so beautiful. At the end of the trail it opened up into a beautiful apple and pear orchard. Small but so bountiful of fruit. In the corner of the orchard sat one very mature fig tree they sat there for hours talking about him and his brothers  ice skating and sliding down hill during their younger days. It was beautiful.

Shoe boots

Well Christmas has come and gone and it seems like everybody is happy with their gifts especially me with my new shoe boots. My husband picked them out himself he said it only took him about three weeks of looking online. At the very end he narrowed it down to three different pair and kept on going back and looking at them each day until he made his decision.

Name tags

With starting our small business we focused on a niche in a market place. We pushed to be the best of the best in our category. Struggling at first with the in's and out's of getting our business ranked up there with the big boys on the block. The Christmas party that we threw last year was simply incredible. Thank goodness for the name tags that we had made up ahead of time. After handing out all the awards we were totally exhausted that evening.

Ski doo boots

My husband needed a pair of new winter boots for Christmas. he said it would be nice to have a matching pair for his ski doo outfit. I was in shock when I went to price these things out. For the price of these boots you could buy four pairs of mine. With tax and shipping I was over three hundred dollars. They better last forever.

Laptop reviews

I been using the same old laptop so long I think its growing roots to the table. You think its about time that I bought a new one. I'm always out there looking at new ones but just because its fancy looking doesn't mean it works as good as it looks. I'm going to be doing a lot of studying online. when I say studying I actually mean doing my own laptop reviews. It pays these days to cross check capabilities of PC's  let alone the price and the warranty.

Exercise

A lot of different things happen when you get older.  I found out the best thing is to always exercise. My father in law always said if you stop moving you really start to die fast. I don't get much exercise doing my job and of course I'm too tired when i come home or to go to the gym. So I get up an extra hour early and use my wii home fitness program. At least this helped to keep me in shape  and wakes me up.

Barcode scanner

The innovation in this world in the last 20 years if you stand back and look at them its simply incredible. It seems like everyday they're coming up with something new. Do you remember the first time you heard or seen a barcode scanner? It was like what the heck is this. If you think about it people in the U.S. have had their own bar code for a long time. This would be in the form of a social security number. For your entire life you are tracked with this number from paying taxes to applying for jobs. Its always there.

Shoddy cellphone repairs

My husband bought me a new cellphone for an early Christmas present. First my son went running by accidentally got knocked on the floor. The screen was cracked and the touch screen wouldn't move. So we sent it back, they replaced the screen but they never checked to see if the phone was operable. They mailed it back to us. We called them now we're mailing it back they promised to replaced it as soon as they received ours in the mail. We're hoping they do if not it's going to be a big fight getting a new phone.

Weight loss pilss that work

My girlfriends daily exercise routine is too strenuous I believe. It takes her hours to recoup from it. Yes she is about sixty pounds over weight but what took years to put on is going to take time to come off. Even as overweight as she is she is still toned up for her size. The diet pills that she uses don't seem to work as good as what they claim. I suggested to her to check into a site that I found online. You can also view it at http://www.weightlosspillsthatwork.org/. She may find a different program that's more suitable for her.

Gold fish aquarium

It was so much fun setting up our aquarium about 8 months ago. We started with tropical fish but for some reason they didn't want to survive very well and after two months our six fish were dead. So we went to small gold fish about an inch and a half long each. At that time they didn't really need too much food. Now six months later these little gold fish have grown into small monsters most of them exceeding five inches in length. The thirty gallon aquarium is getting too small for everybody.

Hair loss shampoos

Growing old takes toll on all of us in one way or another unless you're one of the really lucky ones. Arthritis can be one of the most painful things as you grow old. They say stay moving with exercise is the most important thing. My father in law said once you stop moving its all down hill from there. With my husband's thinning hair we were looking into hair loss shampoos to try to slow down the situation. Everything takes time and I keep on telling him to have patience with the situation.

Thank goodness my husband is a carpenter. I was running out of closet space. There's a lot of things in life you just can't seem to get rid of.Even though some things you collect had been around forever you just can't seem to part with them. So I ask my husband to re-do the closet. He completely tore it apart and put in five shelf closet organizer for me. Now I have lots of room. I did happen to throw out a couple pairs of old shoes.

USB drives

I'm dreaming of one particular present for Christmas. The new Apple iPad sixteen GB with Wi Fi. It's probably just a dream because at the moment not really that affordable for us. It's just one of those things that you must have. I've looked them all over and had a great experience trying it out. The only thing that I can see negative for me is that I need more usb drives. I just have to add a multiple plug in chord on the end to take care of all my needs on it. I hope it's just not a dream.

Korean clothes

One of my most favorite colors to wear is white. The only problem with white is trying to keep it clean. Most of my white tops also have some kind of lace built in to them. I'm always shopping for a white or yellow new top on Ebay. Some of the most beautiful tops come from Korea. even though I am petite and expect to wear  a size small , the small size in Korea is extra extra small. So when ordering tops from them I have to order a medium just to make sure that it fits properly.

Camper trailer

For years we have loved going up to the Adirondack mountains camping. Old Forge New York is our families play ground. The wilderness up there is extravagant. Any place you turn to take a picture is like a postcard. We've actually made some family postcards and sent them out  showing our adventure.  Normally we're packing up everything  including our tent. This spring we're buying a camper trailer so they'll be a lot less work at our site.

Two years ago at our camp site even being as careful as we are putting up all food so the animals don't wander in looking for stuff we had a mama and baby bear at 1:30 in the morning come walking through. I think they were mad that we didn't have any food laying around because they thought they would rough up the tent as in to tell us to throw them something sweet to eat.  Very scary being in that tent that night not knowing if those claws would rip through. So having a camping trailer will feel somewhat safer.

Winter's cold

With the cold coming or just getting here I tried to hibernate in our house for winter. Winter could last cold temperature wise up to six months in New York State. Luckily we called November already over but this November brought lots of rain which brought lots of mud that of course nobody cares for except for our son. His favorite place is in the side yard with his toys down and a rain suit on playing in the mud in his small pretend lake.

Black friday

After that great Thanksgiving meal we're getting to bed early. After studying all the sales ads we're going to need lots of sleep for the next day. We've found  five different items that we just must have at the price that they're offered on Black Friday. I think the excitement of that day is very contagious just like being in an auction or a gambler at the casino. It's all about the chase and if you can beat the other guy you've won the game.

With gas prices rocketing up again we try to make sure we do things to conserve energy. My husband replaced the plugs and wires in our truck next he did an oil change. It does make a difference. We're experiencing two miles to the gallon more. In an ad in heartland America we also found a tool we can plug in to your cigarette lighter called fuel doctor. It can help so save around twenty percent of your fuel.ho  knows maybe it will really works.

You know it's one of those occasions when it's tough to pick out what gift you'll get for everyone specially now that Christmas  season is right around the corner. Usually our list is already made up so we are ready  for shopping. But this time we kind of ran out of ideas specially for my twelve year old step daughter.  When I saw her  intently playing on Xbox at a neighbors  the other day, I told my husband that an xbox would be something to keep in mind. Now all I have to do is go online to check and  compare the prices.

Overshoes

My husband bought me a brand new set of shoes but I didn't want them to get dirty  going to work with the mud and slushy snow outdoors. So I bought a pair of overshoes to protect my shoes from getting dirty. Besides from keeping my new shoes clean they also helped to keep my feet warm. Needless to say nobody sees my pretty shoes until I get to work.

HDTV

A few months ago my husband talked about getting new glasses. Getting older seems to take toll on your eye sight. It made me wonder because his glasses were less than two years old. We were sitting together watching TV and I happen to mention that the TV was blurry to him he replied I guess you need glasses also. He then started looking away from the TV and everything was clear he then discovered that it is actually our TV going bad not his eye sight as much. So this weekend we're going out and hopefully will purchase a brand new HDTV. I can't wait we put this off too long it's gonna be our Christmas present together for each other.

Some of the treasures that we found in yard sales and auctions are tin toys. Some of them so rare that in the entire Internet you might find one for sale. One of ours from china has no research found at all on the Internet. So we're holding on to it eventually we'll get our appraisals back from three different companies that we sent pictures of our tin toys  to.

Are diet pills safe?

Who knows these days . Every pill has a trade off. Taking care of your problems versus the side effects you might gain from taking them. A girlfriend of mine had severe weight to lose. She said she was taking seven different pills a day. It kind of made me wonder, are diet pills safe? I talked to her on the phone she seemed to be distant. I had to repeat a lot of things. I asked her if she had just woken up. I visited her two days later and asked her how much water she had drank lately. She said, oh very little. The pills had dehydrated her so I helped her make a schedule on how much liquid a day she would need.

Refreshing the house

Coming home everyday from work I'd open the door up. Our house wouldn't smell bad it just had that lived in type smell. Not bad not good just hard to explain. I needed to freshen the place up. I just didn't want to cover things up so I bought a deionizer to first get rid of the regular smell.  Then I decided to go the natural way with cinnamon and cherry. The combinations at different points in the house maybe a little overwhelming but it works for us.

I can't believe it. In this economy where everything is going down hill these jokers in our county raised our school and land tax twenty five percent then of course they voted themselves a nice healthy raise after they steal all of our money with raising the taxes. We do everything to try to save money. The next step is to try to find a cheap auto insurance companies. Pretty soon there won't be anything else to cut back in our house to save money.

Another accident

I was so happy with my new phone. Being it's unlocked H802 red in color I had it for about ten days and everything was fine. One of the mornings I plugged it into the charger I set it on the chair next to the table. My son Jarred came running into the room the cord was hanging low he tripped across it. It swung the cellphone around and smashed into the wall. It seemed to work but later there was a small crack on the front panel. It continued across and stopped the phone from working. Now we had to send it back. It's going to cost forty dollars for repair. Ten dollars for shipping. I guess next time I'll be more careful.

Managed hosting

Starting a business online, there is just so many things to think about. Building a site the way we wanted it took forever. Some of the things didn't work so we ended up removing that part of the page and adding something in its spot. Not anticipating the online storage that we needed was a worse mistake. When too many people were using the site everything started to freeze up. If we would have  went with managed hosting to begin with we probably wouldn't have this problem. You can't blame us for trying everything on our own.

A little boy's request

We were at Wal-mart store this morning to grab some snacks to bring at my stepdaughter's early Halloween party tonight. As we were wandering inside the store we walked into the toy isle. Our four year old spotted his favorite remote control Geo-tracks toys. He always wanted to have new toys whenever he saw different styles available on the shelf that he doesn't have in his collection and asked daddy if he can have it. But daddy said you can ask Santa Claus on that for Christmas. I was listening intently to the conversation when Jarred replied. Well, it doesn't have always to be on Christmas. I can't help but smile by the way he reasoned out. Just gotta have that toy. But of course he will have to wait 'till Christmas comes. Now that's going to be on Santa's list.

Construction jobs

Even these days when the unemployment rate is high there's still a lot of construction jobs out there. If you have any kind of construction trade and do  good job GC's are always looking for good help. The problem in today's market is that everybody or almost everybody is cut throat for the money. Driving the price down usually only drives down the quality of the job and this is not good or contractors cut corners to make up for the lost money.

Halloween is only two days away from now and of course our baskets are ready so we can go  trick or  treating. When it  comes to decorations everything was all set. We had so much fun decorating outdoors for Halloween  and pumpkin sculpting was the best fun of all. We had to stop and think what pumpkin design we would like to make this year. We kind of get bored with those simple  designs so my husband ended up browsing the Internet for designs and we settled on a few. Above all our four year old was so happy to see his pumpkin and insisted to put a candle inside of the pumpkin to see Blue on it.

Eczema

What an irritating thing. The dryness, the scratching does it ever end? You usually can't wear anything lacy. It just irritates it more. Going over and over to the dermatologist for different creams and lotions takes toll on you. You can only hope that this time this medicine will work better than the last. Keeping yourself cool and not sweating sometimes helps. But eczema is an ongoing stage in my grand daughter's life that I wish she wouldn't have to go through.

I can't believe the value of some toys that are considered antiques. On history channel they have a show called American pickers. They travel all around looking through old barns, buildings, garages. Some of the prices they pay for things is incredible. He paid a hundred and twenty five dollars for an old bike the other day. I can't believe it was the same bike that we gave to the junk man a month ago for free. It must be so exciting for them to travel around and treasure hunt for antiques.

Mom's surprise party

My mother in law's birthday is on Halloween so we decided to throw her a surprise party today a week before Halloween. We had a great turn out. Sixty plus friends and relatives. So many people that the church across the road was nice enough to let us use their room for the party. She'll be eighty years old on Halloween and still very capable of taking care of herself. During the party they passed around a book for everyone to write down their most memorable time with my mother in law. She opened it up to a few pages and of course she started to cry.

New diet pill

Besides getting a sore back from sitting at the computer all day, little by little the snacking gets to you. I try to snack healthy by having fresh vegetables and fruit nearby but you always have that sugar low. I must have had it the other day when I made myself think that we were low on milk. When I went to the store I got a gallon of milk and huge sneakers bar. So much for the healthy snacking but what I think I'm going to need in the future is a
new diet pill. The last one I had worked for awhile then I think I became immune to it.

Diabetes is one of the main causes of his father's death. My husband tries to keep his weight down and get some kind of exercise each day. By doing this they say you reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by fifty eight percent. Keeping your weight down and you're exercising constant is the main clue.

Science jobs

So many different people, so many different amazing trades these days out there. My husband has been looking for a type of engineering, estimating job. He's found  a few but they're just not the right ones for him. Part of his studies in the past qualify him also for some science jobs . He said there's so many cross over fields these days  but when you go apply for a job, their requirements seems like they need six men for what they want. Some employers are going way overboard on how many different qualifications they ask of you.

Life with an amigo

Driving all the way to Rhode Island is a six hour drive from here. After buying the black amigo on craigslist we have to go get it. It turned out to be a 16 hour round trip with the bad weather. Anyhow the truck needed a fuel pump. Instead of dropping the whole gas tank from underneath. My husband took the rear seat out and cut a round whole he pulled the fuel pump out put the new one in and the truck was back alive in no time and my husband is a carpenter (haha).

Slide shows

We have so many different great photos stored in our computer. We had a big panic one day. Our computer was flashing fatal error. Luckily a few months prior we picked up an external hard drive. We had never used it up to that day. Lucky for us we plug it in and we're able to save all of our pictures before the PC crashed. When we got our computer fixed we decided to put all of our pictures into slide shows for all of our family to see even if they're on the other side of the world.

Night in the museum

How can you pass it up as you click through your channels on a TV when you stumble across Night In the Museum II. It's just too funny and too witty. One of many favorite part is when all the leaders get together  and argue about world domination. Al Capone in black and white with the sub-machine gun  how cool. Wouldn't it be so awesome if we could go back in time to meet all these characters?

Hormonal acne

Every month it"s the same old same old cramps, bloating. If only man could experience this then they would know exactly how we feel. I get so moody sometimes I just want to be in my bedroom and closed the door for a week. And just as you think you're stressed out enough hormonal acne sets in. Now it's time to cry because this up and coming weekend we have a wedding to go to. With this breakout I might just wear my Halloween costume. I might feel better.

Cooked bats

A funny thing happened to my husband the other day. He was helping a neighbor re-do a roof, as they were doing the roof  they heard a lot of weird  screeching let alone the smell. As they looked over, the wood stove chimney was building black smoke out of it. The lady had just started the wood stove inside apparently she ended up cooking ten or fifteen bats that I guessed couldn't find their way out as the smoke over came them.

Medicare supplement plans

I finally got my health insurance so I had a few things that I wanted to have looked at. Starting about a year ago I had problem sleeping and it doesn't seem like any over the counter pill helps. I went to my regular doctor first he gave me a referral to a sleep clinic in the city. Things are looking better after all the different tests that I went though but to find out my insurance doesn't cover everything. So my next step is to look into medicare supplement plans hopefully this will take care of the remainder of the bill next time.

Ice road truckers continue

We love watching ice road truckers in the history channel. Now three of them have taking on trucking jobs in Shimla, India. Going from minus 10 degrees to a hundred plus degrees is horrible. You have to drive on a left hand drive. The roads are very narrow. These Indian people even pass on complete blind corners having accidents all the time. There's bridges falling apart and rocks slide all over the place. I'd have an ulcer in just one day on driving there. I can't believe these people driving there.

Colon cleanse diet

My husband doesn't ever seem to sleep good. He has tried  so many different sleep remedies. We have spend a small fortunes on different brands. Nothing seems to work. I've made sure that he eats right and doesn't eat too late at night. This seems to help but not all the time. He has gone to the doctors a couple of times. They don't seem to help. One doctor did recommend colon cleanse diet that's our next step in trying to fix something.

Saturday's journey

Saturday's journey was kind of fun. We took off in our truck  to go up to Mexico Point. We thought we would drive around and look at the fall foliage. It was beautiful up there in Lake Ontario even though a little chilly. We took the kids to visit Spy Island. It's really only a long walking path  but it leads to a monument which dates back to the civil war days. It is about a townsman that overheard secrets of an up and coming battle and warned his comrades of it. Therefore saving hundreds of lives by revealing their plan.

Landscape lighting

It is so rewarding if you can do  your own landscape work. All we did was pickup a couple of books that were filled with pictures of beautiful landscaping jobs. To make ours original we used a little of one design and a little of another. Building our own  water falls of stone with the small river at the bottom, came out beautiful. In the fall time we love adding seasonal plants. This is all highlighted with light gold landscape lighting with the exception of the water falls which has a blue light behind it.

The search for a vehicle

My husband has been searching the Internet the other day for a vehicle that we can use as a backup for our other Amigo.  He  ran into this terrific little deal. I call my husband Mcguiver who knows how to fix things "whatever it takes" :-). So this truck that he found on craigslist is a fixer upper that needs a fuel tank that needs to be fixed. My husband is so excited to pick it up and bring it home  so he can start his new project. It's nice to take a risk when there's not a lot money involved. For the price they want  if we don't purchase this we got to be crazy. I'm so excited because you know what I can use this automatic truck to learn how to drive.

Thank you cards

I love designing different things on our computer and printing them out for our friends and relatives. Playing with the photo studio is always fun changing pictures, cropping photos is one of my specialties. Twice this year my friends have come to me and ask me to design thank you cards for their weddings. I was happy. They gave me a challenge for my creative mind. They came out so beautiful. Other relatives after seeing them have requested me to do the same for them.

Our son's hats

It's really funny listening to our son as he learns to talk and use words more and more. Now that he is a big four years old. We're at the store shopping a lady told our son that she liked his hat. He's kind of a hat guy. The hat he wore is an old fashioned style so he definitely looks like a little man. But that's all it took the lady saying she liked his hat. He started talking and then stop for ten minutes telling the lady all about all of his different hats. So sweet.

Fat burner

In general what takes a long time to do usually takes a long time to undo. You would think a lousy ten pounds of extra weight would go away easily. Well five pounds of it did.  The other five pounds seems to want to hold forever. I seem to get some of the weight off at one point I was down to only two pounds left. And then Thanksgiving came and I went back up to seven pounds left to go. I hope to take care of my problem with a fat burner long before Thanksgiving this year and not eat so much.

PC technicians

We spent a lot of money on our home computer and of course had a great warranty policy on it through geek squad. The thing that's horrible is that the geek squad we have these guys really don't know what they're doing. They call us up saying our PC is fixed, we bring it home and it's worse than when we took it there. I thought at first that the geek squad were experienced in technical problems. These guys aren't. They just take the guts all of your computer out and replace it with new. That's fine if they use the right parts but in our case they didn't. Very unhappy with their work.

Lose weight

It should be the world's most less favorite pass time because to lose weight you usually have to give up so much that you eat or they have you eat so much that you don't like. I've always figured  it's a balancing game of intake of food and exercise. It always worked for me at least right up until I have our baby boy. Now I always have this extra little bit to get rid of. Taking it off slowly seems to work the best for me.

The box was loaded with all of my old VHS movies when I was a kid.  Being our son is four now a lot of these movies we can introduce him to including seeing them myself again also was fun. There must have been at least ten hours of Jim Hanson's muppet movies that my son jump up and down as he watched them.

Don't you wish you could find the right product that works for you the first time you search around? Unfortunately it is almost always a shot in the dark. Searching usually takes a long time and you never know if the product is going to be right for you. For instance it took me about six weeks to find the right sleeping pills and about ninety dollars later. When it came to a weight loss product my search didn't take that long. Two days and I found the right product.

Zombie Land

Ever since we got our Wii player we have lots of movies on queue lined from Netflix where we can watch movies instantly on our TV. From the titles  my husband selected the title "zombie land". Well this movie is a little different from the previous horror movies that we watch. Of course this is a battle of freakiest zombies. This is about people that turned into zombies and then eats people and the only way to to stop them from eating people is to blow their heads off or cut their heads off. Pretty gross huh so if you don't want to watch this blood filled movie don't watch it.

Rustic furniture

We had so much fun building our back enclosed porch. My husband was kind of sad when it was done. There was such so many things that we had to pick out that was fun. The end wall where the sun come across is mostly glass so in the winter time the sun shines on the beautiful Pennsylvania slate floor. The floor will heat up and help maintain the warmth in the room.  The rustic furniture we've picked out gives a nice central point to the room focused around a nice gas log fire place. All in all we are very happy with our room.

All these years we been driving by a creek on the side of one road that we use. My husband used to fish there as a young boy but its always been so low up until our recent rainfall. My husband seen this went home grab the fishing poles and went back. Within one hour time we have caught twelve fish. What a great time we had until we went to pull up our stringer a snapping turtle must have liked our fish better than us. He ate four of them all the way up to their heads. Poor fish. Anyhow we fillet the fish. They tasted great on our grill.

Remove belly fat

There are seems to be more and more overweight people every year.  A lot of our jobs are information jobs  where you're working on a computer all day. Kids are sitting around on their rooms playing the games instead of being out playing baseball or football something that's physical. It's not all about just getting older. The phase is getting faster to get there but the jobs themselves don't have any physical interaction anymore. My husband says if he could just  remove belly fat on himself and start over again he would have a better chance at staying with his workout schedule than where he is now.

Wii benefits

We finally broke down and bought a Wii game system. We tried to keep games out of the house because they can be such a distraction from family life. So we finally figured it out that we bought family games to play together and that's the only way we going to play the system. The reason for buying  is that netflex movies can stream through the machine wireless through the linksis system for high speed Internet access. One of the bonuses we found in the Wii is that you can put your SD camera card in the back of it  and view all your new pictures on the TV. We love seeing our pictures the size of our TV screen.

Side effects of diet pills

Growing old comes with aches, pains, and pills. Take a vitamin for everything overall take an aspirin for your heart, take glucosamine for your joint care. I exercised right, I get the right foods but I'm still slowly gaining weight. I know it's to do with my snack every now and then but I don't tell my husband. I ended up getting some diet pills a few weeks ago but every time I take them I get a head ache in an hour or so. I wonder if it's the side effects of diet pills or everything that I take altogether. It doesn't say anything on the box about side effects.

Halloween is getting closer and we like starting early. This year we are putting or should I say digging two or three graves in the front yard. They will be motorized so the tops of the coffins go up and down as people are approaching. One other great thing is we're designing a remote control ghost to chase the kids around in the front yard. The ghost will be made from an old RC truck that we've had for years.

When we went to get our swimming pool supplies, the man at the store was amazed at how my husband had designed our new pvc pool heater.

The process of opening boxes

I told daddy this morning how happy I am when I finally opened the box of cereal the right way! Hooray for that..I was glad  because no one in our household will complains of the boxes of cereal being ripped opened here and there. I must admit that I do not have the patience in opening any kind of boxes these days most especially on occasions like Christmas, birthdays etc.  where kids toys are concerned. How much more you think that these people will put tons of wires on each box? To complete the process of taking the toys out of the box you would need pliers along with extra batteries to make sure every toy works. But the works will be payed for with big smiles from our little boy who patiently waits at his new toy.

Saving money in these hard times has become a daily task. I'm always shopping for a good buy. I've become a new style compared to shopper online. Between the tires and muffler on our truck  shopping around saved us 215 dollars just the other day. This week I'm going to focus on getting multiple life insurance quotes. My husband just recently turned fifty and it seems like everyone wants to sell him this insurance. I said I'd rather take the extra money at this time  and put it into better medical insurance.

I didn't realize removing an old roof from a house and installing a new one was such a tough work. My husband is doing this to the neighbor's house to pick up some extra cash. My husband pulled our trailer over to the side of the house attached the tarp to it to the trailer and the house so the old shingles will slide up the roof and into the trailer without making too much of a mess. Being he is doing it alone it will take approximately five days to strip it and replace the old roof. Extreme work.

Using a laser level

My husband was being so helpful the other day. I'm always trying to line up pictures on the wall. It's tough to get all the picture the same height and level. Each one that I do seem to take forever so my husband thought that he buy me a small laser level. You level it on the wall turn on the beam it shoots a nice straight line across the wall to hang the pictures. As a carpenter's wife I could pencil mark this with a regular level. My husband loves it  because it gets him out of the work of holding a four foot level across the wall. This way is so much easier.

Outer Banks vacation rentals

Last year we picked a simple cabin up in the Adirondacks for our weekend retreat. I felt like we were moving to our second house. My husband and myself started packing three days before the beginning of the trip. Of all things half way there we had a flat tire and had to unpack half the truck to get to the jack. After hearing all the rage from my husband's daughter about Outer Banks vacation rentals that's where we are headed next year. She went on and on and on about the Carolina designs. The Seahawk house was her favorite. Now she wants her husband to renovate their kitchen to resemble the kitchen in the Seahawk. I'm looking forward to all the comforts of home away from home without packing everything. Just to think of a long day at the beach then coming back to the house and sleeping in a real bed, now that's what I call relaxing.

Pop displays

It is such a wonder how many things change as years go by. Start by looking around at how many things are plastic that used to be glass. When it comes to our cars they are thirty percent more plastic than what they were just ten years ago. Most containers that we use these days used to be glass. It's not so much that plastic is cheaper but all around it is lighter, stronger. When company ship plastic containers the weight difference saves diesel in the trucks to haul it. But it takes oil to make plastic. So I guess they weigh the loss versus the gain. A lot of our stores now are using pop displays made out of recycled card board. I think it is just amazing how things are coming along.

Buying truck on eBay

In short, my husband bought a 1995 ford cube van on eBay a month ago. The van was in Long Island so he had to buy a plane ticket. The previous owner of the van picked him up at the airport took him to where the van was. It really was in good shape for the year. The previous owner only drove it a few miles a week around town. My husband started coming home with it which is a 7 hour drive. Half way through the trip the motor died for no apparent reason. It was raining that day. My husband got out of the truck and noticed that the muffler looking thing under the truck which is called the catalytic converter was glowing red. The rain had been cooling it down but it was still steaming. He found out by calling a friend that the converter was clogged. He had his tools with him. He had to cut one slice in each exhaust pipe with the hacksaw then take his hammer and turn the cut into a hole. So now the motor could breath. He went back to start it it started fine and he finally made it home 9 hours later. What an experience.

Besides all their hair care products they now have weight loss products. I decided to look into some . By the time I got out the door I had two hundred dollars less in my wallet.

The first thing our little guy does when he hits there is give Grandma a hug and ask her "did you make any cookies for me Grandma? Grandma's special chocolate cookies are a big favorite with all the generations in my family. My husband had watch her time to time again make these cookies. There's no special ingredients its just mom's love that makes them special.

Folding trailer

We were getting so tired of looking at our old rusty trailer for the jet ski. We happened to be going by Harbour Freight the other day we decided to buy a new trailer and modify it to carry the jet ski. This time we won't have to worry about it rusting so fast. This trailer literally folds up and you can hang it on the garage wall with hooks that we bought. So it will be out of the weather when not in use.

Apidexin

Losing weight, I should write a book on the losing battle of losing weight and how I overcame my problem. It wasn't much of a problem only about twelve pounds after giving birth to my son. One of the biggest things to do is change your eating habits along with what you drink and how much you drink of it. As they say too much of a good thing is bad for you. To put a little edge on the speed that I lost the weight I would recommend apidexin. You be the judge. My husband says seeing is believing.

Driveway lighting

All penny savings these days eventually add up in dollars. Along with everything else that we've done we have plans for adding solar powered driveway lamp post. The price is right only 29 dollars for a pair of them. We need four altogether along with a couple bags of concrete to make sure the stand up to the packed snow of winter. I think it is going to look really nice with the low light illumination of our driveway.

So finding the right date was pretty tough. After that making out the invitations and printing them off the computer was fun. You wouldn't think that it would be so hard to find kids ties these days. It took awhile but we finally settled on a blue bow tie. We've since put it up with his little suit so maybe someday he can use it on his little one.

Cable TV versus antenna cost

We were thinking about giving up our high priced cable. It is really getting out of control. Our neighbor bought one of those special antennas to put on his roof. We had to go over and see it to believe it. He picks up thirteen channels very well on his TV. The antenna only cost in 59 dollars that's less than one month payment to our cable company. So we're ordering one through heartland America next week.

One of the great ways to promote your business is looking into the different promotional products. Whether it be calendars, key chains, or promotional mugs. The money invested will probably never be a loss. If it was it's still a write off for the business. One year we even had thermometers with our business name on them. They were the ones with sticky cups on them so you could stick them to the outside of your window to see how cold or hot it is outdoors.

The water had dropped twenty inches . This left our boat below the dock level so the bumpers were just barely touching. At one point our boat front end went under the dock edge and scratched it pretty bad. We wish the marina people would have seen this and retied our boat at a lower dock but they didn't. Now we have to live with the scratch and gouge on our boat.

Brushing teeth training for our little one

My parents told me over and over again their parents told them over and over again, "you have to brush your teeth at least twice a day". Even though I think three times a day is a lot better bet, flossing is an extremely important part of the daily cleaning also. The only problem with brushing and flossing is when it comes to children some kids can be tougher than the other to get the daily program in order. A twenty four hour a day, that occasion to your little one for potty training can be stressful enough. We encourage our little one with a treat if he made it to the seat without an accident. The treat though was a tasty toothpaste on his toothbrush and if he did it right he would get a little more toothpaste. We have to use some kind of bribery at that age. But it worked. We got him potty trained and in a habit of brushing his teeth in no time.

Ever since I travelled to the other side of the world my internal clock for sleep has been offset. I've tried almost everything to correct my sleeping cycle. Sometimes going without sleep can leave your brain topsy turby to the point where you can't remember what good sleep is. Finding the right sleeping pills has been ongoing long search of mine. It took me more than six months last time after returning from the orient.

Salt water aquarium

We went to the pet store today just to get food for our chinchillas. The salt water fish at the store are so incredible it makes you just want to set up an aquarium today. The price of the aquarium, stand and all the equipment was startling for salt water set up. The price of the fish on top of that would set me back two pay checks so for now we're going to stop and think about this costly adventure.

Irvingia gabonensis side effects

I heard of a product years ago or should I say seed, nutrient that a friend of mine was told to use when they were overseas. They were starting a diet and their blood pressure was way out of line. It was incredible to see my friend after about six months. I couldn't believe the weight loss and the energy they have. The irvingia gabonensis side effects seemed to be so trivial compared to other drugs these days.

Treasure hunting

We went for a short ride to my daughter in law's today. On the way back we figured we would do some treasure hunting. In a ten mile ride home we stopped at three lawn sales. Didn't find really that much except for some extra outdoors toys for our son. Like he needs more but at .50 cents a piece we couldn't pass them up.

Best wrinkle cream

I wish getting older came with an instant repair manua.l It's kind of funny in a sense if you have an old car you take it to a mechanic and usually they don't know what they're doing. As you get older you can go to a doctor for the pains and usually they don't know what they're doing. Some of the doctors don't listen enough these days. They just want their money and out the door you go. It took forever to find the best wrinkle cream. After going through quite a bit of money, I'm finally satisfied.

Muscle stress

My husband working for the union has a lot of ups and downs. Working not working. The only problem with that is he is using a lot of physical strength then stopping work for a few weeks then starting again. Puts a lot of stress on his muscles. Now that spring is here at least we can get outdoors and go for our walks along with jogging around the block.

Chimney cleaning

My husband is dreading this spring of cleaning our chimney. We have a three storey house it requires going up the roof and putting the wire bristle cleaner, sweeper inside it to remove the black creosote built up from all the wood that we burned all last winter season.

Filling the backyard

So amazing to see our backyard grow. I'm not talking grass or plants. My husband built our house in 1992 literally there was no backyard. But our sideyard is high. He has been digging a little bit each year for the last eighteen years. We have a total of 22 foot by 60 foot area and still going. He says probably by 2025 we can put a swimming pool back there. hahaha he laughs.

Cardboard displays

It was such a pain moving all of our heavy shelving. Every year we want to do a complete cleaning. It was something that we didn't want to look forward to along with touching up all the painted scratches over the year. We were so happy with our new cardboard displays. Brighter in color than the old ones and at least one tenth of the weight. So next year I don't mind the clean up.

After getting all the shopping done coming home and building the Easter baskets for fun. My husband surprised me Easter morning. He finally found a chocolate treat that I like. They were little chocolate rabbits filled with coconut. Mmmm good.

Hard drives

In the way past when your computer slowed down you would do the usual things as defragging it shuffling files around to make your computer run faster. The price of external hard drives way back when was so expensive it wasn't worth it to buy one. It's so handy these days to hook up an external hard drive to carry the extra load. It helps us immensely.

Proud jammies

My husband was reminiscing the other morning as our three year old came out with these buzz light year jammies on. So cute and so proud of his new jammies. It reminds my husband of when he was little with his full cowboy pajamas complete with guns and hat that he had got for his birthday when he was six years old.

The wonders of gardening

Spring time brings a different thought to mind, its the fun time for planning our garden again. One year we had too much tomatoes and last year too much peppers. So this year we will be more aware of how many of each we put in there along with trying to balance the soil content better.

Disney vacation packages

Now the summer is about to hit New York State we always try to think ahead because there are a lot of local nice parks to go camping in. But we started thinking about the price we pay here versus the price of a Disney vacation packages. The package isn't really that much more except for the gas for our vehicle to drive to Disney World. So instead of camping in New York this year I think we will be headed for Orlando.

Arrogant people

We've never really worried too much about thieves in our neighborhood. My husband has been on this property for seventeen years. But recently there was a knock at the door, a young man in his twenties says "Do you want to get rid of any of the steel in your backyard?" My husband started screaming at him what are you doing in my backyard? All this time my husband is thinking of how arrogant this kid is. You don't go walking around a person's backyard. Trying to see what you could steal. The kid played dumb or ignorant like this shouldn't bother my husband. At any rate we noted the color of his truck and style of it in case something happens in the future.

2001 MXZX Skidoo snowmobile update

The snowmobile ordeal was really eating at my husband. So he called the guy about it. My husband offered him a thousand dollars less and of course the guy that had the snowmobile said no. So my husband hang up with him and got online searching for the parts that would fix the snowmobile. He found the parts at a reasonable price. He called back the owner and offered seven hundred dollars less than the old purchase parts. To his amazement the owner said we have a deal. So we paid him again and went to pick-up the snowmobile. My husband is very happy and the savings all together is around five hundred dollars. Finally done with the purchase of the snowmobile.

Collecting State Quarters

There's nothing better for a youngster these days than to get him into collecting something. Whether it be coins, stamps, or stones. It's all learning experience about some of the smaller special things in this world. We started collecting state quarters about four years ago. Our little guy is always looking for the few that we're missing. Someday will find them all Daddy. Someday...
