Splitting cherry trees : saving more buck
With the high cost of energy, saving every dime is important specially in New York State's cold winters. We have a wood stove. We have over fourty cherry trees on the property. They're huge over a hundred foot tall. My husband bought a chain saw and some wood splitting equipment. He then went out on a task of cutting the tree down. I help him split the wood and stack it. I tell you what it's a tremendous amount of work to save three hundred dollars on our gas bill a month but it is money to be saved. I just worry about him splitting the wood it just about kills him the cherry is very hard.
